The Round Protagonist

In "The house of the scorpion" Matt, the protagonist, learns about clones and how they were created. During he book they explain how they are bread in cows and how the clones are treated in the regular world. "You were grown in that poor cow for nine months, and then you were cut out of her. You were harvested. She was sacriificed. Thats the term they use when they kill a poor lab animal. Your stepmother was turned into rubby T-bone Steaks." At the start of the novel Matt doesn't really understand the concept of being a clone,a replica of a human. He just knows that a clone is more or less like the family dog. Matt feels I guess customed to being like the dog. Basically he has accepted his name and status for what he really is...
