I think i would be friends with Celia because she is that mother for Matt. She takes really good care of him and loves him even though hes not biologically her son. The motherly type of personallity drew me to her character.
I would be friend with Celia because of the reason you gave. The kindness of her heart to take care of Matt for those years. Celia is one of the people I would love to have on my side through hard time.
